Do you want to learn the full truth about the Jews?
tatatata...look no further than www.jewwatch.com ....
Now, tell me this: how would you react if one of your best friends is reading this website and when you point out it's a lot of hateful garbage, he asks - albeit in different words - " how can you prove that? "
How do you begin? Do you begin at all? How do you deconstruct a monstrous library of lies put under the hideous tagline of 'scholarly research'? How, when I cannot even begin to understand what drives the people that created it to such levels of insanity?
It was probably the first time in my life when I just couldn't answer a question regarding Jewish identity and history. But I began to see more clearly how easy anti-Semitism can be spread, by simply carrying the message long and loud enough, through as many channels as possible, and, of more recent trend, also with an 'honest interest for scientific accuracy' makeup('oh, he's playing the anti-Semitism card, like they always do when asked uncomfortable questions'...raise your hand if you just thought that while reading the last sentence).
I sadly left the room.

I agree with you Albert. Although, I would ask you to not think that Jews are the only one as the focus of such propoganda. Anti-muslim, anti-Christian, Anti-Hindu and yes, even Anti-Buddhist sites have proliferated. (All objective research of course)
Then of course there are sites which debunk Evolution and other such, in the name of scientific research.
We are all frustrated, and the answer (maybe) does not lie in sadly leaving the room but with confidence prove them wrong. Positive engagement is the only answer.
Of course exchange programmes focused on cultural understanding might help :-) (Which is why I feel so frustrated without an AIESEC in Israel.)

Hey man,
I surely don't think that. I have come across many other horrible websites like americanjihad.blogspot.com, www.islam-watch.org and so on...
The answer definitely does not lie in leaving the room. It is one of my personal goals to keep engaging and discussing the history and culture of the Jewish people and Israel.
However, I also made it a point to focus my efforts with people that - no matter who strongly opinionated are against my ideas - are actively engaging in a conversation and critically analyzing the information and arguments presented to them.
There are instances when people want to believe something and any counter argument you logically give serves nothing but to feed the conspiracy theories they are fond of...In those cases, common sense rationale and factual information are powerless.
The case I described was, surprisingly, one of those.
AIESEC in Israel....I think @ has already been dragged in a vicious cycle on this one due to the way expansion was handled in the last 3years, and there's not much hope for any initiative on @IL to happen in the next 5-7 years.
Somehow felt connected. There're "anti" everywhere and pretty much I do believe due to lack of information, education and critical sense. For those who disagree and somehow have other way of seeing things and knowing history should get up and speak up. Sharing is caring. :-)
I still remember our jewish celebrarion back in Rotterdam... it was so lovely to spread our culture around. Looking forward to celebrating Rosh Hashana once again with you! Lele.
